Card Detective is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
Device ID
We generate an anonymous device identifier to track your monthly scan usage. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
Card Images
Photos you take to scan cards are sent to our server for identification and are not stored after processing.
Collection Data
Cards you save to your collection are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your collection.
Purchase Information
Subscription purchases are handled by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status through RevenueCat but do not receive your payment details.
How We Use Information
- Device ID is used solely to enforce the monthly free scan limit
- Card images are used solely to identify the card and retrieve pricing
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data
Third Party Services
Card Detective uses the following third party services:
- Anthropic Claude — for AI card identification
- eBay Browse API — for live market pricing
- RevenueCat — for subscription management
Data Retention
Card images are not retained after processing. Device IDs are stored in memory only and reset monthly.
